Publishing Agreement for Rights Holders
Learn about your rights, the platform’s role, and the agreement process for publishing a work on Notheca.
1. Parties and edition
The publishing agreement will be made for a particular work and edition between the rights holder authorised to publish it and the natural person operating the Notheca service under the Mudos Digital name. In this model, Notheca provides the digital publishing and reading platform; the publisher recorded for the ISBN, the author and other contributors are credited accurately. The agreement will identify the parties and their verified contact details; personal contract information will not be published on this general page.
2. Rights and permissions
The intended model is a non-exclusive digital licence that allows the rights holder to use their work elsewhere. Rights are not automatically transferred. The agreement will specify each necessary right and its scope separately, including reproduction and technical storage, digital transmission and reading in the app, and the use of excerpts or images for promotion.
The term, territories, languages and formats, as well as any offline access and sublicensing, will be agreed for the edition. Any required permissions for translation, adaptation or other derivative use will be obtained separately.
3. Ownership and third-party material
The rights holder represents that they are authorised to submit the work and grant the uses to be agreed, and that necessary permissions are in place for third-party text, images, translations and other material. For a historical work, rights in the original, the source copy and the new edition are assessed separately. All necessary permissions must be obtained for works with multiple rights holders.
4. Review and preparation
Submissions are assessed against the publishing principles and rights information. Editorial changes and the final version are discussed with the rights holder. Submission or viewing this page does not guarantee acceptance or publication. A work is described as peer reviewed only when such review has actually taken place.
5. Revenue and payments
We are considering a reading-based share of subscription revenue for rights holders. The share, revenue pool, definition of qualifying reading, calculation, reporting and payment periods, deductions and taxes have not been determined. No rate or payment promise is implied; financial terms must be expressly agreed in a separate commercial addendum for each work.
6. ISBN and publication details
For externally submitted books, an ISBN assigned to the publisher for the relevant edition and format is required before submission for review. The publisher obtains it from the appropriate ISBN agency in their country. A valid check digit alone does not prove assignment. Editions prepared by the platform itself may be submitted without an ISBN; this exception does not change official agency requirements.
This framework is initially intended for Türkiye. Contract and ISBN requirements for other countries will be assessed locally before being treated as applicable.
7. Corrections, removal and termination
The agreement will address reports of errors or rights concerns, corrections, suspension of access, termination and the treatment of existing access afterwards.
8. Acceptance process
Signing in does not itself grant permission to publish a work. Once an agreement is ready, the rights holder will review it separately for the relevant work and edition, including its edition-specific terms. Permission to publish will not be assumed before the necessary legal formalities and approvals are completed.
For preparation criteria, see our Publishing Principles.
